Please read these terms carefully before using the SVHacks platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SVHacks (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform. We may update these terms from time to time; continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use SVHacks. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at contact@svhacks.com if you suspect unauthorized use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
4. User Content
You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Platform, including project submissions, profile information, and communications. By submitting content, you grant SVHacks a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and promote your content on the Platform and in marketing materials with attribution. You represent that your content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to engage in any of the following:
- Submitting projects that contain malicious code, malware, or exploits.
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our systems.
- Misrepresenting your identity or team affiliation.
- Submitting plagiarized or pre-existing work as your hackathon project.
- Using the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Engaging in harassment or abusive behaviour toward other participants.
- Scraping, crawling, or using automated tools to extract Platform data without permission.
6. Hackathon Prizes
Prize details, eligibility requirements, and distribution timelines are specified on each individual hackathon page. SVHacks reserves the right to disqualify participants who violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines. Prize decisions are at the sole discretion of the organizing team and judges. Prizes may be subject to applicable taxes, which are the sole responsibility of the recipient.
7. Disclaimers
The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. SVHacks does not guarantee uninterrupted access, and we are not liable for any losses arising from Platform downtime, data loss, or actions of other users. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months prior to the claim (which may be zero for free events).
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SVHacks operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
